This summer tourists can explore the rare underwater world of Milford Sound by submarine.
The four-passenger sub will dive to a depth of 305m in the cold, rainfall-fed waters of the Piopiotahi Marine Reserve where there are sponges, black coral, anemones and fish species usually found only at vast depths.
The battery-powered sub, being built in Florida, is designed to take passengers on a 50-minute dive. Prices will range from $395 to $495.
