A young man was discovered dead from gunshot wounds close to a building in Birmingham, and the authorities have made public his name.

The victim has been named as Sheldon Deion Henry Jr. by the Birmingham police department. At the age of twenty, he resided in Center Point.

In the 300 block of Second Avenue North, officers were called to the scene at 7:17 a.m. on Monday after receiving a complaint of a person who was lying down. The finding was made by a bystander, who then contacted the Police.

On arrival, they discovered that Henry was unresponsive. It was determined by the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service that he had passed away at the scene.

Henry was found to have been shot, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office evaluation.The police have not made any arrests.

Since Saturday, Henry is the fourth person to be killed in the city, and the fifth person to be killed in Jefferson County overall.

This year, he is the 132nd person to be murdered in Birmingham. One of those incidents was a shooting that involved an officer and was carried out by an outside law enforcement organization. The other nine incidents were deemed to be justifiable.

As of right now, there have been a total of 184 homicides across Jefferson County, with 132 of those occurring in Birmingham.
