The penultimate season of Big Mouth left Netflix audiences on the edge of their seats, as the adult animation began to wrap up the storylines of the students of Bridgeton Middle School. Big Mouth follows the lives of a group of middle school children on the cusp of puberty, and the story of their changing bodies and developing sexualities. Among all the Big Mouth season 7 cameos, the show primarily focuses on Nick Birch (Nick Kroll) and Andrew Glouberman (John Mulaney), and their group of childhood friends, including Jessi Glaser (Jessi Klein), Missy-Foreman Greenwald (Ayo Edebiri), Matthew MacDell (Andrew Rannells), Jay Bilzerian (Jason Mantzoukas), and Lola Skumpy (Nick Kroll).

After their mothers discover Nick and Andrew under the influence of mushrooms, the Birch family fears that Nick is heading down the same path as his older brother Judd (Jon Daly). To make sure Nick doesn't end up the same rebellious anarchist, Elliot (Fred Armisen) and Diane (Maya Rudolph) send Nick to visit the private school Cobblestone Academy. Despite not wanting to be separate from his friends, Nick visits the school and befriends Danni (Zazie Beetz), and decides to attend Cobblestone for his freshman year of high school.

Big Mouth's season 7 finale saw Nick meet a new friend, another Andrew (voiced by Zach Woods), sending Glouberman into a spiral. Andrew's first day of high school was troubling enough, having been beaten up by Pumbaa (Jon Daly), but not having Nick with him was the icing on the cake. Ironically, the new Andrew looks very similar to Glouberman: tall and wearing a pair of thick spectacles. Despite the previous prominent love triangle between Jay, Lola, and Matthew, Big Mouth season 7 shined a light on Jay and Lola once again – with Jay seemingly having moved on from Matthew.
