Kody Lost A Brother
Fans may recall that Kody had his brother, Curtis Brown, appear on Sister Wives season 3 during an episode entitled "Brown Boys Do Vegas." The two brothers shared an instant bond, with fans noticing their comradery. Sadly, in June 2013, Kody received the news that his brother had passed away. Curtis died due to a tragic motorcycle accident at only 34 years of age.
Truely's Health Scare
Christine and Kody almost lost their youngest daughter after having to rush Truely to the hospital when she was only 3 years old. Both parents believed that their daughter was sick with the flu, but it turned out that the infant had kidney failure. Sister Wives viewers may not have been aware that Truely was hospitalized for 11 days. Kody didn't even have insurance at the time, and the couple ended up getting a bill for $450,000.
Janelle's Mother Died
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Janelle revealed she had lost her mother. Janelle never revealed what her mother passed away from, only that she was heartbroken. Kody made the exception to leave self-isolation in order to attend his mother-in-law's funeral, but only after a major family fight. As fans will recall, the patriarch had implemented a set of serious rules regarding COVID-19. Even though the Sister Wives clan has had multiple setbacks, most have decided to keep moving forward, with fans hoping they get yet another season out of the family.
